Unofficial citywide sing-along guide with lyrics and more

Eighty-five year-old Tony Bennett has aged every bit as gracefully as the song that put him on the map.┬áPresenting, in more or less chronological order, five decades of Tony Bennett (and others) performing “I Left My Heart in San Francisco:”

With Judy Garland – 1963

Watch Tony grope a playfully receptive Judy Garland during their duet.

With the Count Basie Orchestra – 1967

Includes the feisty, broken-hearted bridge Bennett performed in the song’s earlier years.

With Doris Day – 1970

Tony plays the piano, and sings the “classic” version of the 1954 lyrics. Doris “Martin” chips in for a few lines, but hardly a full duet.

Johnny Carson – 1982

Bennett appeared on Johnny Carson’s very first Tonight show in 1962. He would be a frequent guest on anniversary shows, including this one.

Johnny Carson – 1992

Macworld – 2009

“San Francisco” begins at 2:30 after a nice rendition of “The Best Is Yet to Come.”

Game 1 of the 2010 World Series
