Before the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLVII, the Streets of San Francisco were awash in Red and Gold. From downtown to the Castro, from the Parkside to the Gold Dust, 49ers fans were out in force to cheer on their team.
At halftime, though — with our team down 21-6 — 49ers fans are regrouping and hoping for more energy and play-making in the second half.
We’ve already seen the 49ers’ first Super Bowl interception — a wobbly wounded duck from Colin Kaepernick into the arms of Ravens safety Ed Reed.
Will the 49ers sputtering’ offense catch fire in the second half? Will we see Alex Smith? Or the first 49ers’ loss ever in the Super Bowl?
