Here at SFBay, we’ve got exciting plans for the future of news in the Bay Area. And we’d like you to be a part of them.
SFBay is seeking energetic editors and interns to help us cover the world of Bay Area news, sports and culture.
As part of producing the Bay Area’s fastest-growing news site, SFBay editors sniff out good stories then write short, lively, accurate summaries that bring together multiple sources to add context and perspective. All in about 300 words.
Original reporting and enterprise is encouraged and supported with access and credentials to newsworthy events.
Strong candidates will have a background or education in journalism, a sharp and quick wit, and a sensitivity for stories that get people talking and engage a diverse audience.
You’ll work with other SFBay editors to edit, post and cover key Bay Area stories. SFBay has a vibrant, active virtual newsroom where we gather to assign, edit and discuss stories.
All editorial positions — including interns — are paid on the same per-article basis with rates for both aggregated and original content.
The following positions are currently available at SFBay:
- Editor. General assignment editors to produce daily content for SFBay. Should be available to write for SFBay for at least two four-hour recurring windows each week.
- Editor (intern). General assignment intern editors to produce daily content for SFBay in conjunction with the offering of academic credit through your school. (You also get paid.) Time commitments to be arranged in conjunction with academic requirements.
- National/international editor. Brings the world beyond the Bay Area to SFBay readers via wire services and other syndicated content sources.
- Music editor. Passionate and prolific about a wide range of music in the Bay Area and beyond.
E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us why you’re the person for the position you’re seeking. Also include links to writing samples and anything else you feel is important.
