Okay, I don’t know where your family likes to congregate when everyone gets together in The City.
But MY family goes to Gordon Biersch.
After a Giants game. For a birthday. Heck, we’ve had Easter brunch there for about five years straight now.
So, as you can imagine, I had a miniature heart attack when my best friend forwarded me the Inside Scoop SF link that said that my favorite Embarcadero staple was closing.
Oh the humanity!!
Where in the name of Brian Wilson’s orange cleats am I going to get my seasonal beer sampler and fish tacos now?
But then I calmed myself down, and read the full article:
Gordon Biersch Brewery is leaving the location next month—April 28th to be exact—because the “brewpub” and owner couldn’t come to a mutual agreement with the company leasing the space.
Fear not, fellow beer-guzzlers. Gordon Biersch is planning to find a new location “in the immediate area.”
Sounds to me like they aren’t leaving San Francisco after all.
They’ll just have to find a two-story space as expansive as the Harrison & Embarcadero location they’ve been in for the past two decades.
Keep an eye out for where the resta-brewery will be relocating to. I know I will be eagerly waiting to see where they end up.
And probably grabbing a plate of steak-frîtes in the process.
