Two men carried out the first bank robbery on Tuesday morning in San Francisco’s Chinatown. According to police, the suspects entered a bank in the 1000 block of Grant Avenue near Pacific Avenue at about 9:35 a.m. The suspects ordered everyone inside the bank to get down on the floor.
One suspect displayed a handgun while the second suspect went to the bank’s lower level to rob the contents of a vault, police said. The suspects fled the bank in an unknown direction following the robbery and have not yet been arrested, according to police.
Officers said the suspects were both described as men in their 20s or 30s. No injuries were reported and police did not say how much money the suspects made off with.
The next day another bank robbery occurred, this time in the Financial District at about 2:15 p.m., police said. The suspect, described as a man in his 40s, entered a bank located in the 300 block of California Street and presented a note demanding money to the bank teller.
The teller complied and handed over cash to the suspect. No injuries were reported, police said. The suspect fled from the bank on foot with cash and has not yet been identified.
On the Friday after Thanksgiving, two more bank robberies were reported, one in the Financial District and another in the Laurel Heights neighborhood, police said. The bank robbery in the Financial District was reported at about 10:40 a.m., police said.
The suspect, described as a man in his 40s, entered a bank in the 100 block of Battery Street and stated he had a weapon. Police said the suspect stole an unknown amount of cash and fled the scene before officers arrived. No injuries were reported and the suspect has not yet been identified, police said.
The next bank robbery was reported in the Laurel Heights neighborhood at about 5:20 p.m. on Friday, according to police. The suspect, described as a man in his 30s or 40s, walked into a bank in the 3500 block of Geary Boulevard near Arguello Boulevard and simulated that he had a gun.
He proceeded to order everybody onto the floor and ordered a bank teller to give him money. The teller complied and nobody was injured, police said. The suspect fled from the bank and has not yet been identified.
