Death on tracks closes Powell BART
The Powell Street BART station in San Francisco is closed this morning because a person was hit by a train there and killed, BART officials said.
The person was reported under an East Bay-bound train at about 7:55 a.m., BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said. She said the person was killed.
There was limited service between San Francisco and the East Bay as of about 8:30 a.m. Passengers headed to San Francisco from the Dublin/Pleasanton, Richmond and Fremont lines will need to off-board their trains in Oakland and wait for a San Francisco-bound train, Trost said.
