  1. I hope this is the case and Mark Davis understands this would be a GREAT “CHANGE” in how the Raiders have been doing things for years.

The Raiders have had no concept of leverage and how not paying good coaches good money to come to Oakland has hurt the Team & Fans.

I am just going to use round numbers here.

    If the
active roster is paid $100 million and we are only willing to
pay a head coach $2 million (we get coaching quality like Dennis Allen)
Then the teams plays like the value of $25 million (3-13) what was the actual cost of that head coach?
as far as I am concerned the $2 million in salary and the gap in value of $75 million so
we are at a loss of value of $77 million

On the other hand paying some one like Gruden $10 million to get the team to play like $200 million would make a positive leverage value of $90 million.

Not really sure what they paid Del Rio (looking for that number) but if they are willing to actually spend money on top assistants than we could actually still create the same value a rockstar coach could have as well. Hopefully Del Rio is able to attract the top candidates and the Raiders will change their philosophy on coaches and pay them.-

The Press conference basically seemed like “Ground Hog Day” but if RM & Mark Davis will listen to Del Rio and between the 3 of them one of them can find and attract talent we have the cap room money to spend.

The other positive from the press conference was I heard Del Rio mention how important “scheme” was. I have been screaming this for years- Hopefully who ever he hires does not stuff his scheme down the Raiders throat and he actually tries to adapt to the Raiders personnel.

    • Disagree…they’re only paying JDL slightly more than DA. The reason people are willing to consider coming to the Raiders is Derek Carr. Just as the Raiders had Rich Gannon as their leader in the past, Carr is now the leader of this team–AND THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE. SIMPLE!
