A man was struck and seriously injured by a van in San Francisco’s Richmond District Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said.
The collision was reported at 10:47 a.m. in the area of Geary Boulevard and 26th Avenue, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. The pedestrian was unconscious but breathing after being struck in the crosswalk, Esparza said.
He was taken to a hospital with what are considered life-threatening injuries. Eastbound Geary Boulevard was briefly blocked as a result of the collision, according to Esparza. No other information about the case was immediately available this afternoon.
