A construction worker fell and was impaled on a section of rebar in the hills east of Milpitas Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials.
The fall was reported at 4:22 p.m. at a site around one mile east of 10000 London Drive, where construction crews were apparently working on a water tank, officials said.
The victim was found at the end of a private dirt road, and by the time emergency crews arrived had already been removed from the rebar.
Paramedics called in a medical helicopter and the patient was transported to Stanford Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Officials did not have an update on the construction worker’s condition today.
