Woman walking dogs tumbles down cliff

The U.S. Coast Guard Wednesday morning successfully rescued a woman who fell down a cliff in Daly City.

A Coast Guard helicopter was able to hoist the woman from the side of the cliff, according to Coast Guard officials. She is being transported to the hospital.

The woman and a man reportedly fell more than 100 feet down the cliff while walking two dogs.

The man was able to climb back up the cliff, but the woman remained stranded about 100 to 150 feet from the top of the cliff and 100 to 150 feet from the bottom, according to Coast Guard officials.

The Coast Guard launched a helicopter from San Francisco.

Firefighters tried to initially rescue the woman, but her two dogs were acting aggressively and rescuers weren’t able to reach her, according to fire officials.

The Coast Guard responded to the scene around 3 a.m.
