One person was killed in a car that fell 400 feet off a hill near a landfill in San Jose Friday morning, a fire captain said.
Fire crews responded to a report of a vehicle over the side of a hill on Guadalupe Mines Road around 9:30 a.m., fire Capt. Mitch Matlow said.
Crews reached the scene and learned a person inside the car died, Matlow said.
As of 10:50 a.m., firefighters were no longer at the scene, a dispatcher said. No further details were immediately available.
