Police arrested a suspect in Richmond Friday they believe is responsible for the killing of a person found wrapped in plastic on a West Oakland street Tuesday morning, police said.
Richmond police officers took Seth Sears, 36, into custody during a traffic stop in Richmond, according to police.
Officers arrested Sears on suspicion of killing Neil Akin, 24, also of Richmond, police said.
Akin’s body was found wrapped in plastic at about 8 a.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Union Street, according to Oakland police.
Richmond police said today that the alleged killing took place in the 500 block of Richmond’s 16th Street, where Sears allegedly lives.
Police allege that Sears and Akin have known each other for years and were involved in an argument before the killing.
