Inclement weather caused major flight delays and 70 cancellations at San Francisco International Airport Monday, an airport spokesman said.
Flights into and out of SFO are delayed by an average of 45 minutes because of the rainy weather, SFO spokesman Doug Yakel said.
The 35 incoming and 35 outgoing flights that were canceled are primarily shorter commuter flights along the West Coast, Yakel said.
He said travelers should check with their airline before coming to the airport to confirm the status of their flight.
Mineta San Jose International Airport officials reported delays of up to 20 minutes for some flights.
Oakland International Airport officials said there were no major delays reported at that airport.
