A Santa Rosa man driving a Ferrari was arrested on suspicion of DUI Friday evening in his hometown, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers were dispatched around 7:40 p.m. to an incident on the entrance to westbound state Highway 12 from Farmers Lane.
Responding officers were told by Santa Rosa police that the driver of the Ferrari showed signs of being intoxicated, CHP officials said.
A preliminary investigation and statements by the driver indicate the man was driving a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia south on Farmers Lane when he tried to turn onto Highway 12.
The man accelerated too rapidly and lost traction, according to CHP officials. The Ferrari spun out of control and got stuck in the mud on the shoulder of the highway ramp.
CHP officials said the ramp was dry.
When a CHP officer was gathering information from the man, he seemed to be intoxicated, according to the CHP.
Officers arrested 67-year-old Henry Mattei on suspicion of DUI after a DUI evaluation, CHP officials said.
