Victim, suspect ID’ed in alleged patricide

Police this afternoon released the names of a victim and a suspect in a stabbing Friday morning in San Leandro that killed a church pastor.

Teman Bostic, 54, died after allegedly his 21-year-old son Isaiah Bostic stabbed him multiple times at 5:30 a.m. in an apartment at 950 Juana Ave.

Officers responded to 911 calls when residents of the apartment complex reported hearing a struggle inside the apartment where the two Bostics lived, police said.

The residents reported hearing a voice saying, “Your dad is bleeding – I don’t want to die.” Isaiah Bostic opened the front door to the apartment when officers arrived and the 21-year-old had blood on his hands and clothing, police said.

Officers found the older Bostic and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrested Isaiah Bostic on suspicion of murder and took him to the city jail. He is now being held in the county jail without bail, according to police.

Officers on Friday interviewed witnesses and collected evidence and will seek murder charges against Isaiah Bostic.

An arraignment is expected on Wednesday in Alameda County Superior Court in Hayward, police said.

Teman Bostic was the pastor of the Mt. Olive Apostolic Original Holy Church of God at 605 Hamilton Ave. in Menlo Park, according to the church’s website.
