One injured, 25 displaced in NoPa fire

Fire officials said a three-alarm fire in San Francisco’s North Panhandle neighborhood was contained Saturday evening.

The fire was originally reported at 1571 Fulton St. and 573 Baker St., but fire officials said the fire was at 1571 Fulton St. and 1565 Fulton St.

The blaze was under control at 9:43 p.m.

A preliminary report by fire officials said no one was injured and 50 or more people were displaced. But fire officials now say an 11-year-old child cut their foot and only 25 people have been displaced.

The American Red Cross has been called to assist the displaced people with temporary housing.

Fire officials first reported the fire on Twitter at 8:22 p.m. By 8:59 p.m. crews had held the blaze to three alarms.

Fire officials have warned people to close windows and turn on fans if they live near the intersection of Fulton and Baker streets because of smoke from the fire.
