Woman defends home in attempted robbery
A woman was able to stop a robbery at her Palo Alto home Thursday evening after she confronted the suspects, according to police.
Police said offices responded at 5:50 p.m. to the 1300 block of Dana Avenue after a woman reported a break-in at her home.
The victim, who is in her 60s, told police she was home alone when she heard a crashing sound from her front door that didn’t sound like a knock or doorbell.
According to police, the victim went to investigate and found her front door had been kicked in and found an unknown man standing inside her home. After yelling at the man, another man came running down the home’s staircase and the two fled on foot, heading east on Dana Avenue.
The suspects were described as two men in their 20s or 30s and both were close to six feet tall weighing around 250 pounds. One was wearing orange shorts and a gray t-shirt and the other was wearing dark shorts or pants and a top with a stripe or other markings on it, according to police.
