Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a driver wanted in connection with a felony hit-and-run crash that injured two dogs so severely they had to be euthanized Saturday in Saratoga.
Around 8:30 a.m. deputies were notified that a hit-and-run had occurred on Dagmar Drive at Holiday Court.
A Saratoga woman was walking two dogs in that vicinity when they were struck by a gray or black Ford truck and pulled under the vehicle. The dogs were rushed to a vet, where they had to be euthanized due to the severity of their injuries.
The dogs were Labradors named Sadie and Chudley.
The woman, Anne Palmer, was holding on to a dog leash and fell to the ground when the dogs were hit. She suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Deputies say the suspect vehicle was a newer, long-bed crew cab with large tires and a camper shell that was not the same color as the truck.
