One person was sent to the hospital after a three-vehicle collision involving a shuttle bus on Interstate Highway 280 in Los Altos Hills Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded to a report of a collision on southbound Highway 280 near Magdalena Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., CHP Officer Michael Aquino said.
Responding officers found the collision was between a black shuttle bus, green Honda Accord and blue Honda Civic, Aquino said.
The Accord driver was traveling behind the shuttle on the far left lane and made an unsafe lane change, clipping the rear of the bus, according to Aquino.
As the Accord was switching lanes, it struck a Honda Civic, he said.
The collision led the bus driver to lose control of the shuttle, which spun out across lanes to the right shoulder facing north, Aquino said.
The other two vehicles were also pulled over to the right shoulder when officers arrived, he said.
Seven people were in the bus, which is owned by Corinthian Transportation, according to Aquino.
No injuries were reported, but the Accord driver was transported to a hospital as a precaution, Aquino said.
Speed played a role on the part of the Accord driver, but drugs or alcohol were not considered to be factors in the collision, according to Aquino.
Firefighters blocked the off-ramp to Magdalena Avenue until the scene was cleared at about 4 p.m., he said.
The collision damaged about 70 feet of guardrail, according to Aquino.
