Portion of Diablo Road closes due to downed tree, power lines

A portion of Diablo Road in Danville will be closed to through traffic all day because of a downed tree and power lines, according to police.

Police said a large tree fell sometime early Wednesday morning, knocking over power lines on Diablo Road between Calle Arroyo and Avenida Nueva.

PG&E crews are on scene Wednesday morning working to repair the power lines and several power poles that were impacted by the incident, police said.

Residents who live in the affected area will be allowed to use the road, but through traffic will be turned back, according to police.

There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen.
