More bodies found in deadly wildfires

The death toll from the wildfires in the North Bay has grown, Cal Fire officials said this afternoon.

In Sonoma County, 20 people have died and in Napa County the number of dead has grown to six.

Those numbers are up from 19 in Sonoma County as of Friday afternoon and four in Napa County as of Friday evening.

At a news briefing earlier Friday, Sonoma County Sheriff Rob Giordano said there were 1,308 missing persons reports and 1,052 people were found safe.

That left 256 people unaccounted for. Forty-five search and rescue teams and 30 detectives were searching burned areas, Giordano said in the briefing.

Gov. Jerry Brown along with U.S. Sens. Diane Feinstein and Kamala Harris today toured the fire-ravaged areas in the North Bay, stopping to hold a news conference and a community meeting.

Brown praised the work being done to extinguish the fires and also said the work by firefighters, elected officials and neighbors is an example of how America pulls together.
