One killed, four hurt in weekend shootings

A man died in a shooting Saturday afternoon in San Francisco’s Bayview District and four others were injured in two other shootings Friday in the city, police said Monday.

The victim killed was identified as 25-year-old Ameere Jackson, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office. Jackson was pronounced dead after he arrived at a hospital.

Police said someone called them at 3:06 p.m. to report the shooting in the 1200 block of Quesada Avenue.

The suspect or suspects are at large.

On Friday, two men were injured in a shooting reported at 10:13 p.m. at 25th and Connecticut Streets in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. Both victims suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and were taken to a hospital.

One victim told police he was walking between two buildings when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.

The two men are 28 and 20 years old. Police said no suspects have been identified.

A 31-year-old man and another person were injured in a shooting reported just 3 minutes later at 10:16 p.m. in the 100 block of Eddy Street near the Powell Street BART station.

Both victims were walking when a suspect shot them. The victims suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and were taken to a hospital.

The suspect fled and is at large. Police did not provide a description of any of the suspects.
