The San Francisco Press Club honored outstanding Bay Area journalism and journalists Thursday night, including nine awards for SFBay photography, video and writing.
SFBay earned five first-place awards, including two for photography by SFBay Director of Photography Scot Tucker. A video by SFBay Multimedia Editor Dayvon Dunaway, Cierra Webb and Jesse Garnier on Cam Newton signing a jersey for the mother of a cancer victim at Super Bowl 50 received first-place honors for digital media videography.
Aaron Levy-Wolins also received first-place recognition for his photo story on Muni’s overnight cable car maintenance workers. And for the fourth-straight year, a selection of SFBay headlines were recognized as the best overall in the digital media category.
Berkeleyside won first place for overall excellence in the digital media category, and the San Francisco Examiner was named best daily newspaper for 2016.
