A 15-year-old boy was arrested early today on suspicion of breaking into a Petaluma convenience store and stealing more than $1,000 worth of alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets, police said.

Around 4 a.m., a passerby reported suspicious activity at the Fast and Easy Mart at 860 Petaluma Boulevard North, according to police.

Officers went into the store and confirmed that a burglary had occurred. They found the suspect in the parking lot, police said.

After investigating, officers discovered that the suspect had made several trips in and out of the store, according to police.

The name of the suspect, a Petaluma resident, won’t be released because of his age, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and taken to Sonoma County Juvenile Hall.
