A California Highway Patrol officer suffered major injuries in a traffic collision on state Highway 4 in Concord this evening, CHP officials said.
The collision occurred around 6:15 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4 near Port Chicago Highway, according to the CHP.
Although the male officer suffered major injuries, they are not considered life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital.
At least two eastbound lanes of Highway 4 were closed initially, however, by about 8:20 p.m. all lanes had reopened, CHP officials said.
