Person trapped between train and platform closes Balboa Park BART

A person got trapped between a BART train and the platform at the Balboa Park station in San Francisco Monday morning, a spokesman for the transit agency said.

BART officials initially issued an advisory at 9:21 a.m. about the incident, calling it a major medical emergency.

BART spokesman Jim Allison said police and medical crews responded to rescue the person, who was still alive as of shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The Balboa Park station is closed during the emergency response, with some trains passing through the station without stopping and others being turned around at the 24th Street Mission station, Allison said.
