A Southern California woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Nicole Stanton of San Dimas, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

Stanton was a caregiver at the nonprofit Visiting Angels in Glendora, working with senior citizens in the San Gabriel Valley.

She had begun working at Visiting Angels in October, according to the nonprofit, and was married with two young children.

Visiting Angels said in a statement:

“She graciously served the seniors of her community and was loved by all her clients … The staff and clients at Visiting Angels will sincerely miss her kind spirit and bright smile.”

Stanton was crossing North First and East Rosemary streets at 12:46 a.m. Monday when she was hit by a vehicle, according to police.

Officers are searching for the driver involved in the crash, but have not yet released a description of the suspect or the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
