BART plans to close down the tracks between the Pleasant Hill and Concord stations over a series of four upcoming weekends from late April to early June for maintenance, but a free County Connection bus bridge will be available for those affected by the closure.
Crews will be working around the clock to replace 50-year-old tracks and other equipment that BART officials say will make for a smoother, quieter and more reliable ride. Meanwhile, however the closure will add about 20 minutes of travel time during the weekends in question.
Drivers who typically park at the Pittsburg/Bay Point, North Concord or Concord stations are advised to park at the Pleasant Hill station if possible, as service will not be available at their typical point of entry into the BART system.
The rest of the system should not be affected.
The weekends in question include April 27 and 28, May 11 and 12, May 25 and 27, and June 8 and 9. For more information about scheduling, go to https://bit.ly/2If3lts.
