Oakland fire crews respond to outdoor blaze

The Oakland Fire Department has been called to the scene of a fire in the area of East 12th Street and 18th Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

A dispatcher would only describe it as an outside fire, but a witness reported there is a homeless encampment in the area.

The fire was reported about 2:40 p.m. and crews remain at the scene.
