The body of an infant was found on a conveyor belt early Friday at a recycling facility in San Jose, police said.
Police were called about 3:30 a.m. to GreenWaste Recovery at 625 Charles St. to a report of a dead infant found at the facility, according to San Jose police spokeswoman Officer Gina Tepoorten.
When officers arrived, they found the baby on a conveyor belt.
The case is being treated as a homicide, police said.
The infant’s identity has not been released and the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
