The El Dorado Sheriff department confirmed the tragic death of a couple that crashed into a Lake Tahoe boat dock Sunday morning.
A husband and wife from San Ramon were killed when their boat crashed into a dock at Lake Tahoe early Sunday morning, El Dorado County sheriff’s officials said today.
The victims have been identified as Tatiana Nikolskaya, 44, and her husband Vadim Raizanov, 45, according to the sheriff’s office. The couple were killed in a crash reported at 1:40 a.m.
Sunday at a dock pier on Emerald Bay Road near Meeks Bay on Lake Tahoe, sheriff’s officials said. A group of people sleeping at the dock were awakened by the crash.
Sheriff’s deputies responded and found both victims dead. Their boat, a 19-foot 1997 Glastron, was speeding and the hull of the vessel was split in half by the impact with the dock, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators are looking into the possibility that alcohol was a factor in a crash.
Autopsies on the two bodies are scheduled for this week, sheriff’s officials said.
