An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Danville early Tuesday morning after crashing into a house, rupturing a gas line and prompting the evacuation of about a dozen residents, police said.
Police said the crash happened around 12:40 a.m. when a driver, later identified as Shae Kapulica, of Danville, was heading north on Westridge Avenue in an Audi A4, missed a turn on Midland Way and crashed into a house.
The crash damaged the home and broke a residential gas line, prompting emergency responders to evacuate residents inside the home and neighboring houses as a safety precaution. No injuries were reported. PG&E crews were called to the scene to repair the ruptured line.
Kapulica was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was released later this morning.
