San Francisco residents who want a say in proposed changes to police district station boundaries may attend a meeting of The City’s Police Commission Wednesday evening.
The Police Department submitted its proposal for station boundary changes on Dec. 10 to the Police Commission and a 90-day public comment period for the proposal ends on March 10. The Board of Supervisors requires a study into the city’s police station boundaries to be conducted every 10 years.
The proposal includes a new Southern police station that was constructed in The City’s Mission Bay neighborhood. Police will be moving there from the Hall of Justice at 850 Bryant St.
Today’s meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Room 400 of City Hall. Those who can’t make to this evening’s meeting may attend subsequent Police Commission meetings on Jan. 14 and Feb. 4., also in Room 400 at 5:30 p.m.
Other meetings are scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Tenderloin police station at 301 Eddy St. on Jan. 28, Northern police station at 1125 Fillmore St. on Feb. 11, Southern station in Room 551 at 850 Bryant St. on Feb. 25 and the Bayview station at 201 Williams St. on March 4.
