Officers who responded to the 2000 block of 22nd Avenue at about 11:55 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a report of gunshots found an Oakland man who was unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.
The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Oakland police, who haven’t released any information about a motive or suspects, said anyone who has information about the shooting should call the Police Department’s homicide section at (510) 238-3821 or the police tip line at (510) 238-7950.
