San Francisco, Calif. adopted the Sunday Streets program in 2008, where blocks in various neighborhoods are closed to private vehicle and transit traffic for on select Sundays each year to allow residents to walk, bike and celebrate freely.

A reminder that a portion of Folsom Street will be closed to motor traffic for a Sunday Streets SoMa event from 10 a.m. to 4:30 Sunday has been issued by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

Traffic will be detoured and bus lines rerouted for the closure on Folsom Street between 10th and Essex streets for the free event that opens the blocks for outdoor recreation.

Muni will resume normal routes once streets are clear.
